How it’s Made
My favorite technique for creating cardigans is the "Hexagon Cardigan" crochet technique. I start by crocheting two large hexagons in a soft wool/acrylic blend yarn in a "granny" stitch. I then crocheted several floral squares to accent the back center of the cardigan. The two hexagons are stitched together on either side of the column of floral squares down the center back. The top sleeves seams are then stitched. Next I add rows of granny stitches to the sleeves so that they are full length. I crocheted around the entire bodice to create the front and bottom borders and finished by adding the beautiful floral button as a closure. This cardigan took approximately 40 hours to create.
