How it’s Made
My favorite technique for creating cardigans is the "Hexagon Cardigan" crochet technique. I started this one by crocheting two hexagons in a soft Okeo-Tex certified acrylic yarn using double crochet stitches in a cream color. I then expanded the hexagon alternating colored rows and cream rows using a variety of stitches. The two hexagons were stitched together down the center back and the top sleeves seams stitched. Next I added alternating cream and colored rows to the sleeves until they were full length. I crocheted around the entire bodice to create the front and bottom borders and finished by adding the colorful wooden buttons. This cardigan took approximately 30 hours to create.
